Hair removal methods

Epilators pluck the hair from the roots, but sometimes, the outer layer of the skin is also peeled off, resulting in damage to skin. It may take some weeks for the skin damage to get healed.

The materials used for epilators and other hair removal products varies depending on the price of the product. For low cost products, the epilator can be used for a few months and then has to be discarded.

If an epilator is used on dry skin, an ingrown hair may be formed, which can be painful to remove.   So it is important to ensure that the skin is moisturised and clean before using the epilator.

The epilators and shavers available in the market are either battery operated or use a electric power supply.  Battery powered epilators are usually easier to use and handle,  but are less effective.  Epilators with a 230V power supply offer less flexibility, but are sometimes better for removing hair .

A variety of shavers and epilators for hair removal are available.  Both have their advantages and disadvantages – epilators remove hair from the root, but it can be painful.  Shavers are more convenient, but hair regrowth is faster.
