Philips Satinelle Epilator HP 6609 is more compact compared to other epilators, but has a few design flaws which detract from its performance. When connected to 230 V power supply through a Belkin surge suppressor, it does not work at all, but functions intermittently when connected directly to the mains supply or through a GM power guard. Though it costs about Rs 1000 ($25) more than the Braun Silk Epil 3170, its performance is not as good.

The Panasonic Soie Epilator ES2028 is one of the better epilators available . The epilator comes with a skin guard which makes removal of hair fairly painless compared to other products in the market. It comes with 2 epilation heads – one large for bigger skin areas like legs and small for other skin surfaces. A brush is included for cleaning the hair that has been removed.
The epilator has an inbuilt battery which can be charged using the charger included in the package. An inbuilt LED indicates that the epilator is being charged. One charge is sufficient for several uses of the epilator.
This ES2028 Panasonic Soie Epilator has 2 speed settings – fast and slow, depending on the hair size and other factors.

The Braun Silk Epil Epilator is one of the cheapest epilators available with prices starting from about Rs 850 ($20 ) at eBay.in . No model number is specified for the cheapest model available in India. An epilator has an advantage over a shaver as it removes hair from the roots, slowing the regrowth of the hair.
While it works, it is effective for removing longer hair. For short hairs, it may cause skin damage. It does not have an inbuilt battery, so it works only when connected to the power supply. This is a disadvantage while removing hair from wet skin.
